 Is there a Dress Code?

Absolutely — and it’s all about keeping things fun, safe, and family-friendly! We love seeing your creativity shine through your costumes, but to ensure everyone has a great time, we do have a few important guidelines:

  • Keep it Covered: Costumes must not be see-through, and all private areas should be fully covered.

  • Weapons Policy: All prop weapons must be clearly marked with an orange tip and must be LARP-safe (foam, plastic, or otherwise non-harmful).

  • Age-Appropriate Costumes: Please ensure costumes are suitable for a general audience. For example, children should not be dressed as characters from 18+ media or horror films intended for mature viewers.

These rules help us create a safe, inclusive environment for fans of all ages. Thanks for helping us keep Megacon Carlisle a positive space for everyone! However, the staff do reserve the right to ask you to change clothing or leave and come back if they think your costume is inappropriate. If you have any concerns, drop us an email beforehand! 

Is there Parking at the Venue?

There is limited parking in the school car park that will be taken up by traders on the day (sad times, I know – but just think of all those goodies they’ll have!). There is limited parking in the streets nearby, but the closest actual car parks will be Lowther Street Car Park and The Lanes Shopping Centre, which are approximately an 8-minute walk to the venue. 

Is the Venue Disability Friendly?

We try to make sure the venue is as adapted as disability friendly as possible and the layout is relatively good for this. Everything is on one level, except the lower atrium floor, but that has a ramp that you can descend via. However, this event is held in a school, and while we aim to make sure everywhere is accessible, we apologize in advance if there are circumstances out of our control that prevent this. 

What are the ticket options?

We only have one ticket on sale, and that is General Entry. Children under 5 do not need a ticket to enter as long as they are with a paying adult. Similarly, any child under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Carers are allowed in for free if they are looking after an individual who has a ticket, but they must show their Carer card/documentation. 

Unfortunately, we don’t have any early entry or “early bird” options available 

When can I buy tickets from?

You can buy tickets from the “tickets” tab in the top right, or you can pick up some physical ones at Toys n’ Tech at 21 Bank Street, Carlisle CA3 8HJ

Will there be ATM’s or Card options available at the convention?

There are no ATM’s at the venue (I know, it’s a pain!) and the closest ones are in the town centre. While most of the vendors will have card machines, we strongly urge you to bring cash where possible as we cannot guarantee every vendor will have card payment options available and we would hate for you to miss out on some top-tier goodies!

What is the age restrictions?

There are no age restrictions as we pride ourselves on being a family-friendly event. The only restrictions we have is that children under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 

Will there be photos and videos taken at the convention? 

There will be photography and videos taken at the event. If you have an issue with this, please contact the Megacon Carlisle team and we will do our best to try keep you out of any photos and videos where we can.
